Bushkill Falls!

So today I went back in time. It’s been many years since I’ve been to this magical place.

So many railed pathways.

So much kitsch. That bear and sign have been there for at least 50 years. The Falls was purchased in 1906. When it opened to the public there was only one rope bridge over the falls. Right about here:

Just over where  .  The water drops approximately 100 feet. There are 7 separate waterfall in the park and numerous trails. The longest being about a 2 hour hike. Some of the built in stairs that take you from the top to the bottom of the mainb attraction are quite steep.

Other sections are much more Senior friendly:

This was one of my favorite moments of the day.

A couple enjoying the view of the Delaware Valley.  Really a lovely spot.

An eddy collecting foam. Don’t be fooled. This water is really clear and clean and home to many local wild species of fauna and flora.

Gift shop art.

Parnell Falls.
All in all a lovely day. I did the blue trail which was listed as a 1 and 1/2 hour hike. It really was about 35 minutes with photos. My quads were on fire though coming up the stairs from the bottom of yhe main falls.

I will definitely go again when I have a few hours to burn. Shame it’s not like it was 50 years ago.  No swimming now under Bridal Veil. But it is more beautiful, more accessible, and better maintained.

A Pocono must.    🙂
