What an amazing day. Sunny. 50° with a breeze.
I took the AT to Sunfish Pond and picked up the Dunfield Creek back to the Dunfield parking lot. 8+ miles. My longest ever in my life! I’m now with my feet up and The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo. I think I’ll build a fire and spend the night here at the Pecks Pond cabin, Camp Chalfont.
Starting up the AT with my new Marmot day pack. I decided to bring Yoda along…
“Tired he is. Tired I’m not. Long in the tooth this Jedi is becoming.”
I had to.
I think I was here years ago. It was fogged in and I never saw the entire pond. Nice spot.
Rocks. Rocks. Rocks.
“Closely you must look. By the tree I am. By the tree I will stay. Forgetful, this aging Jedi is. Yes, forgetful.”
This would be a lovely spot for a picnic. Dunfield Creek is really beautiful. It appears that the visitors here are respectful. Very little tree carving and no trash. Bravo.
I went out the left trail, the AT, and came back the on the lower Dunfield Creek trail.
Shame. I’ve had that Yoda since the ’80s. I hope someone spots him and takes him home. Maybe I will call the lost and found phone number I saw at the parking lot the next time I come. Wouldn’t that be cool… All in all, a great day.
He will wait for you, Jedi. Return you must. 🙂

I totally don’t remember that intersection — but I must have walked it.
Yoda! I’m so sorry. Hey, maybe it’s a sign that you need to go back.
